LACROSSE.
Oliver Pons of Newburyport (North) and Ryan Dunn of Lynn Classical (South) were named MVPs in a 10-10 tie. After a 7-4 first half in favor of South, the third quarter belonged to North, which scored six in the period to jump ahead 10-7 after three. South's Bobby DeFeo (Wakefield), Lee Poulin (Austin Prep) and Mason Simpson (Beverly) rattled off three consecutive goals to tie the game. Dunn scored his two goals in the first quarter, while Pons scored two of his three in the third.
GIRLS
LACROSSE.
Maddie McDonald of Essex Tech (North) and Tessa Geddes of Winchester (South) earned MVP honors in an 11-11 tie. Winchester's Carly Geddes put South ahead 11-10 with 39 seconds remaining, but Pentucket’s Audrey Conover beat the buzzer for the North to force the tie. McDonald scored three of her four goals in the second half, while Tessa Geddes scored three in each half.
